My hope would be that this encourages open source engine usage but it’ll probably simply make Unreal Engine more popular instead.

Good sports games are still made, they just don’t have the offical roster… out of the box.
What do you mean? It’s been removed in launch 🙃
I mean the original Red Faction isn’t very good. I’d like to see a proper version of that game. A new entry that takes all the good ideas of the original and properly executes them.
A good version of original Red Faction would be great.
Crash remake sold great too, but not the Crash 4. It feels like people ony really wanted to briefly relive the “good old days” and checked out after playing some of the N. Sane trilogy.
I played some of the original Warsaw, it was pretty fun. I’ll give this a go tommorow.
I didn’t know Devolver Digital and Team17 were public, that probably isn’t good.
For real, their Quake II and ROTT remasters are top tier.
You’re welcome and have fun 🍻
Why’s demand for E3 is so low comparatively? What’s different with gamescom? I know gamescom used to be the gamer focused convention when E3 was still focused on business side but what’s different about it today?
“Redfall is looking awesome, it has Arkane’s best gunplay yet.”
Today I’ve been playing My Friend Pedro and man it’s been incredible.
You can’t fault his logic. /s
Why. I mean it could’ve been worth something if Sonic remasters were still stuck on the phone but those times have passed.
Not FIFA though.
It’s two years late. Nobody will touch it at this point.
Because mobile games are an entirely different beast.
Mobile gamers either don’t know better or simply can’t access to anything else. Gaming hardware is expensive, even budget gear is unaffordable to many people. So them accepting predatory monetization is excusable (not all of whom do by the way, there is a market for traditional games on mobile).
No such excuse applies to hardcore gamers. They had something great and it was apparent what overmonetization would do to it, and yet they supported the aforementioned monetization anyway. They even came up with excuses like “it’s fine, they are just cosmetics”.
Oh well, at least indies are great and require highend gaming setups.
Every week some other game seems to claim that title.
I wish the community promoted these kinds of mobile games instead of bashing all of them collectively.
