We run the database and backend on a ax161 on Hetzner. The media is in Wasabi. The alt uis run on a cloud vps.

I’ll check the new way Lemmy detects dead servers, it’s possible an outage caused lemmy.ml to think we’re dead (we’re not!) :-)

1·2 years agoI created mastodon.world just because it sounded cool and it was available. The first banner I used for that was a ‘Hello World’ image so yes that was referring to scripting.
Later I registered some more .world domains like Lemmy.world (and calckey.world and some more yet to be launched)
Woohoo federation works now!
I’m not sure. We also have this list https://lemmy.world/instances and it auto-fills. Not sure what triggers it.
Added a banner as test, but need an official banner for Lemmy.world. (@vsp@mastodon.world ? :-) )
