I’ve used the “writing tools” extensively for minor changes, like changes to capitalization on a large block of text. It makes the phone a little less of a consumption-only device.
I’ve also found the image editing tools handy from time to time, and the automatic calls to ChatGPT on the more complex natural-language questions can sometimes be handy, even if you need to wait a while for the response.
The notification summaries are sometimes very handy and sometimes absurdly incorrect and misleading.
I’m really looking forward to Siri being less frustratingly stupid, but we’ve got a while to wait for that, and we probably shouldn’t set our expectations too high. I do respect that they’ve not shipped it rather than shipping something broken, though.
I’d suggest that language fluency and cultural awareness are probably important for your son to be able to settle in and socialize. Cities in Europe (especially Northern Europe) are likely to be best if he speaks English but no other European language?
Already covered in the OP!
they don’t show up on flight radar or adsbexchane even with government filters turned on
B-Real pops up at around 3:30 in the video, he’s not in the car.
I guess when they’re called “penitentiaries”, the clue’s in the name - high security prisons have never pretended to be about rehabilitation.
I like your comment for the most part, but:
obviously comes from a mishearing by someone who didn’t read books
This is assumptive and prescriptive. The link I sent demonstrates that it’s been used extensively and for a long time by people who not only read books, but write books. I’m on board that “set foot” is the better phrase and likely to be the earlier one, but trying to dictate which is correct is - respectfully - a fool’s errand.
“Set foot” might be better established (and sound better), but “step foot” is not new.
Creme eggs have been around for 60-odd years. They’re crazy sweet and not very high-quality – especially after the Kraft acquisition, as it’s not even Cadbury’s Dairy Milk any more.
What you get in the US are smaller and made over there by Hershey, so frankly they’re probably as bad or worse, but you’re not missing out on much.
That’s definitely not Comic Sans. It’s similar – you can compare the screenshots in the image – but I’m guessing it’s a licensing or cross-platform thing and they’re using a Google webfont?
That’s the beautiful part. When wintertime rolls around, the gorillas simply freeze to death.
A cat, a plan, a canal: Pataca.
Kayak, rotavator, radar, pull-up, level.
How was there a demon of misspelling before standardized spelling?
I don’t know about other countries’ tests, but some in the UK are just nasal swabs, others are both tonsils and nose. The earlier tests - in my area, at least - were tonsil and nose swabs.
I went up from the Jordan unto Bethel. And as I was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked me and said unto me, “Go up, thou bald head! Go up, thou bald head!” And I turned back and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth Ganon out of the wood, and tore forty and two children of them.
Nah, that’s a conference venue. You’re thinking of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center & Fairgrounds in Oaks, Pennsylvania.
