I imagine this may become a contentious thread, but one book I’ve partially read and enjoyed (and now remember I need to go back and finish) is Pit Bull: The Battle Over an American Icon by Bronwen Dickey.

The biggest life upgrade for pets in the house is a robot vacuum. I’ve had one model or another for longer than I’ve had dogs and while it obviously isn’t the same as a good sweep and mop, running the robot vacuum daily is a huge improvement.
