2 years agoI have suspected for a while now that the only way I will leave my current company is when it’s bought out and I am made redundant or downsized. Good to know the symptoms.

1·2 years agoI was born in 1982 and am turning 41 shortly, starting to feel out of touch and cringey myself.
Also I have teenage kids and you could easily be one of my parents. How’s that for a blow? 😁
I had a contractor replace an older faucet a few years ago. He opened up the wall and found older, very brittle plastic pipes, I don’t remember what exactly but they are not modern PVC. He was able to replace the faucet and fix the leak that precipitated the visit, but was emphatic that further leaks and issues were likely.
With an older fixture like that, after learning this, I wouldn’t touch it.
My home was built in the late 90’s.

As someone who works in power electronics… well, not sure how to feel about this lol. But it will certainly be a while before any products are brought to market.
I won’t pretend to not be enjoying the shitshow along with you, but celebrity worship has been around LLLOOONNNGGG before social media, and will continue to be so until there are fewer than 3 humans left alive on the planet.
Not just government. The security questionnaires from companies of all types I had to complete in my last job were insane. If you’re sharing data between organizations in any way, infosec and legal departments get very uppity these days.
