There is a considerable number of users that stopped using Bluesky because of the Age Verification. I think that is playing a significant issue, along with corporate accounts being few and far between compared to Twitter. I really liked how it was set up vs my Mastodon and Twitter account I keep for contests and giveaways. It is a shame they had to go fascist like that.

Company and community subreddits for products I use and contests/giveaways. Also there are people on there I can help that I used to do in a professional way, but because of my health, don’t anymore, and it gives me a sense of… accomplishment? Constructive and creative fulfillment that people on Lemmy just don’t need/seek out.

I think it is a chat app that is holding on by a thread, that thread being the network effect. If that cracks and it offers something like Reddit’s Community solutions but only to Search Engines, and it will collapse. Too much to manager for the server admins, to complicated for half of the casual users. Not enough income sources. Now it is leaning into ID Checking everyone and that had more than half its user base looking elsewhere.
