Slight tangent but I have never until recent days considered social media companies to be American. I know on reflection they are but as a Scot I had used FB, Twitter and Insta for years without ever thinking they were American social media, just social media cos all my friends and family were there.

I’ve only retained Insta now, all else is Fedi. At the very least ban until age 16.

Had a wee look around and it’s a good idea s an open source alternative to IMdb but I couldn’t find a way to filter the language to English or Spanish, the vast majority were in Chinese by the looks of it which I don’t speak.

Used to pay for Duolingo but find their choice of phrases and style to be counter intuitive for me. Rarely do they impress the why or give any type of background. I switched to Spanishdict and bought premium after been impressed with it because the software offers much more.

However learning Portuguese at same time now so spun up Duo for that so the owl can harass me some more.

Not American but aware of it as much of the world is. I’d guess they have military facilities doing some research and development there but anything truly wild will be done somewhere else, probably Alaska or another desert location.

With all the eyes on it all the time probably not got anything really juicy there.

I have found ChatGPT to be better than Google for random questions I have, asking for general advice in a whole bunch of things but sido what to go for other sources. I also use it to extrapolate data, come up with scheduling for work (I organise some volunteer shifts) and lots of excel formulae.

Fuck the lot of them. Shop around for the best deal that doesn’t try to screw you over.

I honestly pop in ‘yo butt’ into our shared shopping list and it usually gets an eye roll.

It’s creeping back in the UK here too. I think hybrid works best for me, can collaborate 2 or 3 times a week and stay at home and be more productive to actually DO the work.
