Strongly agree. Someone has to break the cycle of abuse, it’s wrong to contribute to the cycle so that it can continue harming others in the future.

Edit, one example that comes to mind is the extremely long shifts in the medical field in America. One guy who was really good at being a doctor happened to be someone who voluntarily took on very long hours. Now there is this persistent mindset that every medical worker must accept long hours and double shifts without notice and without complaints.

There are a few cases where it benefits the patient to avoid handing off the case to another doctor, but generally it just limits the pool of people who are willing to go into the medical field, and limits the career length and lifespan of the people who do go for it.

A stereo amplifier taken from a home sound system stack that was… Probably made the 80s? Or else made in the 90s with an already outdated style, IDK.

It’s not name brand, it’s dual stereo instead of surround sound, it doesn’t have any labels about how many amps it can pump out, but as long as I’m in an apartment, it doesn’t get turned up past halfway.

I like that it has multiple inputs, bass/mid/treble knobs, and that the thing just works.

It’s definitely a mistake, but I think it has slipped by because spell check wouldn’t have a reason to mark it, and not everyone uses grammar check, so they think it’s correct to spell it out by the sound of the contraction.

Star wars and Lord of the Rings

I’ve seen enough clips and overviews and “facts about” clips to understand that I am not interested enough to invest the time it would take to watch either series. The story of the production of Star Wars is very interesting, the actual story the movies tell, not so much.

Looking at the prices on those filters, wow! That’s like an extra subscription each winter to fix dry air. Getting one big enough to get the whole house at once seems good, but 55 to 80 dollars a month is a lot!

We did think of this, apparently too late. I’m gathering from other comments that I am dealing with hard water, and the seals on my humidifiers had already crusted over when we got the Brita filter, so it did not fix the issue
