Yep - both parents and my only sibling have done it. Thanks, guys, glad I didn’t call this a decade ago.

I’ve been in a Keasbey Nights mood all year anyways
Dude I love the guys that are like “well WaPo isn’t reporting it and the Americans didn’t email me specifically about their plans to resist so they must all be rolling over”
I hear barotrauma is pretty much instantaneous, hell you could even send me to go work on some undersea cables for a bit and just don’t tell me when my time’s up
I don’t really support death row, but I did always wonder - do they ever ask the prisoners if they have a preference? I feel like I’d take the good ole’ guillotine over asphixiation.
Ubercharging required Medic to install custom hearts in each of the Mercs, no?
What have you done to that pupper?
The funny thing is, that probably makes them an even better imitator of the average twitter user(and person, if we’re honest).
One of the few things I go back to the old site for is /r/eatcheapandhealthy - you need the time to make the food, but you can make very little cash go a long way, especially if you’re buying beans/lentils/oats dried and soaking them overnight rather than buying canned.
Including disasters like Chernobyl, nuclear energy causes several magnitudes less deaths than fossil fuels. It is utterly fucking insane for the concern to be “the horrors” of the three meltdowns you’re thinking of, of which the only one to kill or injure any civilians was Chernobyl. Fukushima did have some workers undergo significantly higher than usual radioactive doses - I invite you to contrast this with the mortality rate of, say, working on an oil rig.
Fossil fuels are killing this planet before your very eyes. I am thrilled by the progress renewables are making, and small scale nuclear is quite likely the only new nuclear we would benefit from constructing these days. But we could have saved an ungodly amount of fossil fuels being burned and thus lives if it wasn’t for this argument.
It will never not be fucking hilarious to me that one of the most holier-than-thou textbook american white moderate liberal people I know works at xitter.
Americans aren’t going to do anything
Sometimes it just takes us a bit.
Gotta love you throwing shade at people “going on social media doing nothing” while you sit, on social media, doing nothing lmao.
Occasionally, there will be a game I want to play as soon as it releases - even then, I’ll maybe wait until the last hour before release to “pre order”, just as one last fuck you to the concept.
Mod team wanted to move to another instance due to oddities and frustration with modding on a difference instance to their accounts(with a light amount of disagreement with instance admins, though not really drama worthy), and they elected to do so without any warning or community input. Many people were displeased by this, which was compounded by the decision to lock the old community rather than simply abandon it and let someone else take over.
You then get a mix of opportunists, drama vampires, the standard fare “all change is bad”, and people that were just unhappy that the decision was made suddenly and opaquely, all working to try to make a new community on .blahaj, with varying levels of smugness, bickering, and some level of actual reasonable discourse hidden beneath it all.
We’ll see “which” 196 ends up being the de facto, but my money’s on .world just due to user numbers and the fact that the old 196 was basically the only community anybody outside of .blahaj ever saw from the instance in my experience.
I have zero desire to procreate. If I ever get parental urges, I’ll foster.
I’d take a swapsies, let Muskie take his place.
Honestly, it’d be something of a relief. I like that future far more than the path we’re currently headed down.
Do they consider frostpunk a “story rich game”? If that’s what all story rich games were like, I’d play more of them - most of them feel like cereal box toys, and I’d generally prefer just reading a book so the subpar gameplay isn’t all I’ll remember.
Cooking a food in a sealed plastic bag is referred to as “Sous Vide”, and was invented in 1974 by the french. It can also be performed in a glass jar, so we definitely could remove the plastic from the equation, but there are “food safe plastics” which have been demonstrated to have no known health issues when used for this purpose.
Some plastics, like BPA or PVC, are dangerous to consume/do easily leach into food/water, but “plastic” is a very broad term that refers to a lot of different materials.
Note: microplastics are a whole different story, and we’re not really sure how bad they are for you. It is perfectly reasonable to ask the question, but society at large has essentially decided the convenience outweighs the risk, and good luck trying to avoid it in your food.
We did and are mocking them for the amount of attention and resources the murder is getting solely due to the wealth of the target.
Article only says the UAW, which has more retired members than it does active, and a pathetically small percentage of the active automotive workforce.
I’m not super well versed in “healthy union demographics”, but a quick wikipedia perusal says the three largest US unions (National education association, service employee international union, and the american federation of state, county, and municipal employees) have between 2-15% retirees.
Something tells me the UAW is just led by chuds but what do I know?
