I come from a time where most games were single player you couldn’t pay to win. Not all games had cheat codes.

What we did have were memory/hex editors, game files, .ini stuff.

With what little instructions you could find online, you had to dig around and figure out where to find stuff and how to edit them so you got unlimited gold or super powerful equipment, etc and not crash the game at the same time.

Little did I know, this built my foundations for controls programming and troubleshooting. There are so many parallels like using memory editors is so similar to our debugging software where we want to find individual parameters that aren’t behaving or communicating properly.

I don’t blame the kid. I blame overly zealous professors who put unrealistic requirements on Turn-it-in scores.

There’s only so many ways an idea can be succinctly expressed. Any other phrasing just becomes obtuse but sometimes students have no choice because some professor when overboard with plagiarism detection.

We’re angry about unbridled end-stage capitalism

Just like with everything in life, there’s a right amount of something and its not zero. Properly regulated free market is probably the best economic system we’ve come up with. I challenge you to come up with a better system.

Its the fact that we’ve voted in greedy leaders and have such lax rules about lobbying and open bribery that’s allowed so much shit to happen.

Most “sanctuaries” are more petting zoos than true sanctuaries.

The real sanctuaries have very strict rules about human/elephant interactions and do not have guests “bathing” elephants or even feeding elephants. Elephants are entirely capable of showering themselves. Forcing them to lie down and roll over to accommodate tourists showering them 3x a day is not part of their natural behavior.

Allowing them a comfortable and safe space to retire where they can be their natural selves is the goal of a real sanctuary. The rest of the places are petting zoos for the owners to enrich themselves under the guise of “altruistic elephant care”

Put in there just as a cheap way to get emotional reactions from the audience, it’s the story telling equivalent of having the dog in the story die.

Just like Jesus, He didn’t even really die. He went away for a few days and on the third day he rose again so that all may follow him and enjoy everlasting life.

It’s a mainly with predators that we have an easier time toilet training them. Evolution has killed off those that shat in their own caves because of diseases and bringing food back to a contaminated den will in turn contaminate the food. Whereas horses and most other herbivores live out in the open, move around more and travel long distances to graze.
