Only thing I’ve run into so far that I still wasn’t happy with after 3 tries is French macarons. They were definitely edible, but still not close enough to the real thing.

Such a cutie!!! I’m having serious kitten withdrawals right now and my “dealer” (AKA the shelter) has been out of kittens for a few weeks. You’re very welcome to join us (me) over at !fosteranimals too!
Honestly, I feel like I discovered a cheat code! It’s always a little hard to say goodbye, but I really enjoy having “illegally smol” kittens around, and they don’t stay that small very long. I only have so much time, space, and money, so if I want new tiny kittens, I have to say goodbye to the ones that are weaned and healthy. Also, most of the people who have adopted my fosters share updates with me as they adjust to their new homes, so I still have a small connection to each of them and know they’re in good homes.
I don’t know if “rarely” is quite the right description, but I foster kittens. I meet lots of people who are excited to hear about it on a surface level and see pictures/videos/play with them, but it’s been challenging to connect with other people who also foster. I’m desperate to trade stories, learn from, and teach other foster parents. I even started a community on Kbin and have posted there a few times, but haven’t gotten any engagement (other than votes) so far.
In case anyone is curious, I’m still confused about how to properly link cross platform, but it’s at fosteranimals@kbin.social
Such a great picture!
I also foster kittens and started fosteranimals@kbin.social to connect with other foster families.
Ha! I had to zoom in to make sure you hadn’t stolen my cats! I also have a short-haired SIC (standard issue cat, AKA brown tabby) and a long haired void, and this looks a lot like a situation I’d catch them in, even the same positions.

Ha! If you saw how much he eats, you’d know he’s never empty. But then, if you saw how much he still begs for more food, you might be right back at square one. Lol.
It’s possible, but I think in reality, he really just knows how to play the part to get what he wants in the moment. He can be pretty smart when it serves him.
He says, “mrrrew”, then purrrrrrs.
Good news! You can rub your face in his belly fluff with very little risk to your life. I do it pretty regularly. But I do imagine that your cat is a bit more accessible.
Hahaha. I guess I might have some unreasonably high expectations of myself. Most of mine tasted okay and looked much better than his. I did 3 batches of batter, and for each batch of batter, I had at least 3 trays of cookies, so I tried different cooking times/temperatures. While some of my issues were more along the lines of appearances (lumpy, browning, cracking), the bigger issue was with cookies being too dry/crumbly or too chewy/tough. It was almost a year ago, so my memory is a bit hazy now, but I might still give it another shot when I have access to a good kitchen again.
