I’ve got hardware in my hip now that makes it really uncomfortable to sit on anything anymore. I appreciate the thought none the less. I keep trying and holding out hope one day it doesn’t hurt anymore.

I used to enjoy riding my bicycle to and from work every. I got an electric assist to help me up a big hill on my way home from work. I was doing better and better at it each time. Before that I used to mountain bike recreationally by doing some basic or intermediate trails.

I’ve spent my whole life on a bike; it’s one of my most favorite activities and I advocate for more and more people to take up the hobby as not only a way to stay in shape but to improve your mental health and save the earth a little CO2 in the process.

It’s a damn shame I probably won’t get to ride one again. Of all the things the accident took from me. That one hurts the most.

Every day I lose a little more faith in humanity. Still holding out hope we might turn it around though 😞

Having IRL friends. I have one. I’ve known him since high school and we still hang out regularly from time to time. I get a long great with people IRL but I always cut it at acquaintance and keep it at that level.

I just can’t get invested in other people’s lives because honestly, most people don’t get me once they know me. I’m also estranged from my family so I don’t see anyone on either side.

It’s not important to me to be popular. Who cares how many people show up at your funeral? It’s not like I’m going to be there to shake peoples hands anyways. I could count on one hand the number of people who will attend mine and I’m perfectly content with that.

All that being said. It would be nice to be invited to social events or parties that aren’t work related. I also wouldn’t mind having some drinking buddies or something. I tried hanging out with a veterans group once but that didn’t pan out very well.

I’ve been taking them since my accident. My hip, foot and ribs got broken last year. I also take a bone and joint collagen supplement as well. The doctor didn’t advise me to take these but my thinking was that my body could use the extra resources during my recovery.

Not sure how big of a role it played but my bones are all healed up and I’m walking, albeit with a cane these days.
