Except they haven’t actually backed that up with a way for you to jump servers. If the central Bsky server goes down, it takes the network with it. Until they actually let other people host, it’s just meaningless posturing. Without a way for people to leave their network you are as captive there as you are on Twitter

So according to Republicans the FCC shouldn’t have the power to regulate net neutrality but it should be able to force streaming companies to carry specific programming.

Japan has always been notoriously avoidant of PC games. Most Japanese devs only worked on consoles and mobile games kicked off way earlier over there so the casual PC market never caught on. That much momentum is probably hard to change

People have invested a lot into Twitter. They’ve built social networks there, they have brands or client bases for people who make money and it’s also just where most people are. Leaving means giving up most of what they need or want Twitter for. It’s a captive audience

Twitter’s original founder is crazy though, that’s not really an upside. And Bluesky’s underlying technology just feels like a worse version of Mastodon, the only reason people are going to it is because the names behind it are recognizable and it doesn’t ask you to choose a server

Sure some gamers/devs don’t care about themes/narratives in games, but that doesn’t mean all of them don’t. We can see with genres like walking sims, adventure games or visual novels that story matters quite a lot to some people. Games like Mass Effect 3 have been roundly criticized by gameplay-focused fans on their failure to provide a good narrative. Plus, politics is relative, what one person thinks is politics or an agenda being pushed into a game (ie: a trans character or themes) might be extremely important to someone in that community
