  • Anyone who thinks this is a good deal doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Experiments involving similar conditions have been done before, and it’s never really a pleasant experience. Solitary confinement is fucking tough.

Take this for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqKdEhx-dD4 3 days in a small room alone with no real entertainment. Even that had significant effect on Michael’s wellbeing.

Keep in mind usually you can still move around and exercise in solitary confinement to keep you relatively sane. In a coffin? Have a look at sensory deprivation tanks. That’s the closest thing to this hypothetical situation, and the people who sell the experience recommend you don’t spend more than an hour in there.

I try to not fall into the habit of doing something I shouldn’t be to make myself feel better but I’ll be damned if a cold beer and/or a snack don’t improve my mood. I should be cutting back on eating 'cause I’m getting fat but work and life do gang up on me sometimes and it’s hard to abstain.

  • As with most things, it depends on the mistake. Sometimes you can fix things, or apologize for what happened, and sometimes there really isn’t anything you can do. Whether too much time has passed, or the mistake is unfixable, sometimes you have to understand it, learn from it, and let that turn you into a person who wouldn’t make the same mistake.

When it comes to forgiving yourself, I don’t have an answer. I think talking about it with someone close might help, whether it’s a therapist, a pastor, your parents, or your best friend. Getting someone else’s perspective on it can help.

    Best of luck

  • If you want to do it, do it. Alone or with your friends is up to you. Watch whichever movie appeals to you. People have a lot of complaints about the movies but I don’t find them too expensive for something I do a few times per year, and I don’t find the experience to be worse than home either.

If anything, since you’re young and you haven’t experienced it yet, try it! It’ll broaden your experiences somewhat and that’s not a bad thing at all.
