  • These are all the US and Chinese backdoors being finally discovered and everyone is in a panic when they should be celebrating lol Good. Bring the corporate internet down, it was better when it wasn’t full of normies and post-iPhone users anyway. When the demographics skewed technical and not performative. And bring the banks down too please. I literally don’t give one shit if the world burns because it’ll burn cooler than this hell we’re already subjected to. For once, we have a chance to enact change that isn’t “just vote lmaoo i’m so smart! i’m radical chic!” so bring it on

  • What is being discussed uses language that was decided by the same DSM that up until a few decades ago labeled homosexuality as a mental illness and caused Turing to be chemically castrated with the same estrogen that trans people line up for today, and then to kill himself over the violation of his bodily autonomy, and then to be stamped on £50 bills as a retroactive apology. That’s what’s being discussed.

Language is used to pathologize people for seeing things objectively. Systemic critique gets converted into personal failure. If you look at how the anglosphere operates through language you’ll realize that 99% of English serves the grammatical purpose of shifting the blame downwards and to pathologize people with thought-terminating clichés that imply that their own “free will” (which can’t be proven to exist and which the elite doesn’t believe in) is the root of their problems. Not the material conditions. But your reaction to them. Obviously. Because it’s never material conditions created by a person who can be punched, it’s always something wrong with you specifically. And with an ever-increasing proportion of the world population, apparently. The rise of depression is proof that the therapist class is doing a shit job at healing people, mostly because if they heal you they can’t pay their mortgage anymore; and besides it’s not like they can actually fix capitalism so they just sell you copium and tell you that you should be glad to be huffing it.

So in conclusion: why does everything suck? Because language is captured so thoroughly that you can’t even express the plain truth that your eyes observe without being categorized as something that can be used to reduce you to a manageable stereotype. So you internalize the stereotype and wonder why the cognitive dissonance you’re feeling hurts so much, and then you’re billed hourly to cope with it.

In order to succeed and be happy you don’t need therapy, you need lawyers who can litigate semantics and threaten people until they give up and leave you alone. Impunity is happiness for the untouchable.

Wikipedia is and has always been shit. It’s where institutions go to write down their propaganda so it sounds authoritative. In fact it’s the precursor to AI in that sense. It’s credentialism all the way down. If something is said somewhere by anyone, then it becomes a source. Unless that source is not approved of installed by the powers that let wikipedia gracefully host its websites.

If a page regarding a political or historical event isn’t under constant scrutiny, state actors and “trolls” will gradually alter it until it says nothing conclusive at all. Everything must be up in the air, everything must be “neutral” (when language itself is political…)

Also think about the incentives. You’re a government. You have people working full time to redact history. You CAN and you WILL threaten people who write the wrong version of history. This is not even hidden, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Wikipedia–U.S._government_conflicts

They can see it happening, they can document it happening, and they can’t do shit to change it because they’re not a peer to peer project. Like the fediverse for that matter, it’s all vulnerable to the same exact “a guy in a suit rang your doorbell because the server is on your premises” tactic.

So in conclusion, believing that “wikipedia good” and “AI bad” is an incredibly naive way to understand the world. Read up on Wittgenstein and Sapir-Whorf and tell me how this isn’t literally their theories being implemented.
