You can’t get much more real world then two Cat 5 hurricanes. Also, I hated The Real World, the moment that garbage came on, it was time to change the channel. I know online streaming/youtube has replaced MTV’s niche, but MTV of the late 80’s through the 90’s will always hold a special place in my heart.

In all seriousness, I was surprised agreed to debate her at all, given that he has nothing to gain. Best cash scenario, he tries the same approach he used with Biden, turning his mouth into a fire hose of lies, and Biden couldn’t keep up. With Kamala, she’d just laugh at his lies, and actually refute him with facts, he’d look just awful in comparison.
At this point I doubt he’ll actually show up to the debate.
When a moral panic happens, a lot of things get blown out of proportion. A good example was the panic relating to D&D and satanism. There was a huge panic sometime in the 50s or 60s about the police dealing with young thugs with concealed switch blades, which could be hidden, and then deployed one handed so fast a cop couldn’t draw his weapon fast enough. So this panic got a lot of laws drawn up to ban any switch blade.
Since then, the there are knives that skirt the law by not having a spring which force the blade open, instead a tension bar. There are still types are illegal to carry if a Cop would find out you have it, like “Out the front” switch knives.
The stupid part is, there are plenty of “one hand deployable” knives on the market that are 100% legal. But the laws never get revisited. In my state it’s illegal to have a out the front switch blade, yet a bunch of high end OTF knives are for sale at a sporting store. They just post a sign that says “Know your local laws”, which some how makes it okay to sell.

Harris was a prosecutor, and a successfully I hear, there was never any chance Trump would risk debating her on live TV. He maybe able to fire hose lies against Biden, but Harris would rip him apart, and the best part is, he knows it. He has nothing to gain from debating her, so he will come up with excuse after excuse to avoid it.
I noticed this bullshit a few days ago on my Win 11 desktop! I found if you go check the settings of the start bar, you can hide the copilot icon in the lower right, and then there’s a check box to enable the lower right hand corner to work as show desktop again. The functionality can be restore to exactly as it was, but what the hell were they thinking.

I love the first Dune book, and I love the goofy 80’s Dune movie, which was pretty close to the book in terms of getting a lot of the internal dialog in place. But I hated the new Dune movie. I didn’t like how sterile and empty they made the palace, or the weird anus mouth design of the sand worms. Or the silly use of balloons to help lift harvesters. I very much didn’t like how they made Lady Jessica an emotional mess, instead of being in control of her outward emotions, as she was trained to do.
They also screwed up the personal defense shields REAL BAD. The idea that the shields react to kinetic energy, so a fast moving project from a firearm would get stopped, but a slow moving blade would pass through. The fight near the end had people being killed by fast sword strikes by hitting the shields, it was just so jarring and lazy. They also completely misrepresented who and what the Sardukar are. Based on how many people loved the movie, I have an unpopular opinion. Though I found that most people who absolutely loved the movie hadn’t seen the original movie, or read the first book, so they didn’t know anything to color their impression.

As a full time remote worker, I can confirm, I’m driving so much less. My commute prior to the pandemic was 18 minutes (12.7 miles one way), so 25 miles round trip with 36 minutes spent driving each work day. My commute was short compared to a lot of other people I worked with who’d drive 45 minutes one way, some 1 hour one way! That’s a lot of driving that can be cut out if the role allows for remote work.

Space Garbage Men, job of the future. In all seriousness, I’m glad they’re looking at solutions, because this issue can get out of hand very fast from what I’ve read. If we had no regard for the build up of space trash, we could have a halo of debris making leaving the planet impossible, or at the very least, dangerous.
Yeah, they taste awful to me, very overpowering. I think I’ve heard some people can be more sensitive to bitter flavors, so it’s possible that’s why I don’t like anything with bitterness as one of its traits.
Coffee, it’s just too bitter for me, and by the time I get it tasting okay, it may as well be a dessert. People seem to form half of their personality around how much they love coffee, it makes me feel like I’m missing out.
I remember arguing with a co-worker about how this deal was pure crap, and even if Foxconn delivered all the jobs they said they would, it would take 40 years to recoup the cost of the tax breaks. Scott Walker screwed over that area of the state HARD, people had land ceased/forced out, huge costly changes to the infrastructure in that area where the factory was supposed to be.

The driving part isn’t as important as being able to take off vertically. Needing a runway makes it the worlds only airplane you can drive to the airpoint to take off with, not as convenient as the flying cars we’ve been promised.
