Can you link me one time the government made a change google didn’t agree with, google continued operating as normal against the change, and challenged that change in court? That change being anything other than a new regulation that attempted to restrict some aspect of Google’s business?
The only thing I’m able to find is essentially anti-trust lawsuits related to google search being the default in iOS and Android. I’m basically looking for any legal challenge google “resisted” for some societal good.
(Edit: this isn’t like a challenge to your argument, I would just like to be better informed to see if google actually has partook in some sort of activism against the government other than fighting to continue their terrible business practices)
What are you talking about? I said that google should show what is fact, not their opinion. Pretending the US’s official name for the body of water is the gulf of Mexico is denying the truth of what is happening. Other people outside the US report that the gulf hasn’t been renamed for their location, this is a US problem.
And yet he does with no consequences because of the Republican administration (and frankly, the non-progressive Democrats). It’s not Google’s job to be a check on the government. If the US government department that manages natural landmark names has that set in their records, that’s what should be reported.
First off fuck trump
But my hot take is that google should show it as gulf of america and remove holidays from the calendar. Google should be a source of fact and the fact is the Republican administration has officially renamed the gulf of Mexico and removed those as federally recognized holidays.
Google shouldn’t be “protesting”, the blame here is on the US government. I dont want Google’s “opinion” on things when I search. Be mad at Google when they also refuse to do black history doodles on their front page (like, right now I think)
But what are illegal immigrants doing that is bad? They pay taxes (sales tax, property tax via rent, and income tax if they have a stolen ID), they buy things, they contribute labor. We’re spending money to deport and hold them. It’s all a net negative.
If the problem is that they are undocumented, then document them. Give them work visas. They don’t get the right to vote or have access to welfare systems with a work visa.
How many children of immigrants speak really good English? They usually translate for their parents in my experience. Which means they are assimilating to the culture. It also seems most time the first child might have a more ethnic name, the first grandchildren usually have more American names.
Illegal immigrants commit less crime per capita, which makes sense because if you are here illegally and do crime, you get deported after your sentence. They have a bigger incentive to not do crime.
America was built by immigrants, we’re known as the cultural melting pot. When did it become such a big deal and so restricted to enter the country? Our birth rates arent high enough to sustain us forever, we need immigration. It just seems like we artificially made immigrating here harder so that people would inevitably sneak in so the capital owners had access to a cheaper workforce who won’t speak out about injustices for fear of being deported.
The robo taxi isn’t until 2026 if you make the assumption it’s on time and is autonomous.
Tesla has said Full Self Driving is coming next year for like 9 straight years in a row, and the only thing that came out of that was “obviously FSD is a marketing term, only an idiot would have bought FSD and thought they get an autonomous vehicle”
Space X pushed the hyper loop when California pitched their idea of building high speed rail throughout the state, and once they gave space X a grant and cancelled their plans, he dropped the project.
Tesla’s value comes from vibes and the potential of what some vaporware technology could be worth if they could actually build it.
I mean honestly, if Tesla could build an autonomous vehicle that could pay for itself in 1 year from taxi fares, why would they sell that to the public? They’d make way more keeping it to themselves or maybe franchising it out. A complete monopoly on the autonomous taxi industry sold for $45,000? Yeah, right.
That feature is now built into chrome.
Elons two main businesses only exist because of government handouts. 7500 electric vehicle tax credit over 100,000s of cars is well into the billions. With how close Tesla came to insolvency, the ability to reach more customers surely saved Tesla.
And spaceX (and more money for starlink) he has got billions more directly and is slated to receive even more even though SpaceX has missed deadlines over and over and the goal of propping up SpaceX was so we could have a cheaper option than Russia to getting people to the ISS is now not even on the table.
What’s the over/under twitter gets government subsidies with some paper thin argument like “it’s the public square of the Internet, so it’s basically a park, and since we get 10x the yearly visitors than the grand canyon, we deserve 10x it’s budget to help maintain our “free speech” park”
The DOJ, through the FBI informants who communicated with Philippi for months, outlined the rough details of Philippi’s alleged plan, which it said was motivated by racial hatred. According to the DOJ, Philippi was connected with several white-supremacist groups
The FBI seemed to think he was connected with white supremacists, so I would imagine he’s pro Trump. Seems a bit of a stretch for a white supremacist to vote for a non white candidate.
So let’s say on Twitter, someone blocks me and I can’t read their post. Can’t I just log out and read their post that way? I don’t have a Twitter account, so I’ve never seen a blocked link before.
If you’re talking about what Google or Microsoft offer as a login tool, it’s basically a file hidden on your physical PC so when you attempt to login to a service that wants it, the service gets a password from you and the passkey from your actual device to authenticate you.
For example, I have passkey enabled on my windows PC that my Google account has a passkey in. Anytime I access the built in password manager in chrome, Windows now gives me a pop up for a PIN number, and then windows will authenticate on my behalf with the hidden passkey.
If I need to access my password manager from my phone or another computer, I have to use my Google password instead since my passkey isn’t on those physical devices.
I believe Microsoft stores your passkey files on your motherboards TPM module, but I could be wrong.

Undecided voters aren’t undecided between Trump and Harris, they are undecided on leaving the couch to go vote.
So I don’t really think it’s changing the mind of voters and I don’t see it motivating people to go vote.
Just seems like an attempt at counter narrative for “Comrade Harris”. I don’t see it moving the needle.
Not saying you and I would call it “ethical” but there are for profit companies who will pay for someone’s funeral expenses to claim the body and sell it to researchers, universities, etc. So they didn’t donate their body to science but their family sold it because they couldn’t afford the service on their own.
Maybe not ethical, but legal, and therefore they may be able to claim it’s “ethical” in advertising.
Technically that’s true, because it changed the law where you can’t be denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions, but I’m guessing OP means he uses the marketplace thingy instead of having insurance provided by work.
(Also, the affordable care act didn’t force you to have insurance, it was a tax penalty to not have insurance, but the 2018 tax act set that penalty to $0)
so that people know where Politico stands in terms of being a trustworthy source
I just assume all media actually want a Trump victory, because they get money writing articles and the money was good his first term. If Trump is good at anything, it’s making headlines.
Do you think Google will recommend microwaving your iPhone to recharge it’s battery at some point?
So I guess they don’t like that over 90% of immigrants return for their court hearing, so if they make it so ICE detains and deport people who return for their hearings, that percentage will go down and it’s another propaganda point that catch and release is a failure.
