From the stories I’ve heard, the husband and wife directors ran a terrible production with daily rewrites and an extremely unhappy cast and production team. I don’t think studio meddling was the major factor there.

I bought a cheap white led strip from AliExpress to make an edge light around the bathroom mirror. A few cuts, a bit of soldering, and I made some discrete corners pieces with my 3D printer. Double sided tape for a semi permanent install.

So simple, but the results are great. It’s ZigBee as well so I can add it to the smart home if a need arises.

A Dark Quiet Death from Mythic Quest.

Nearly totally removed from the rest of the show, it’s about relationships, sacrifice, integrity, compromise. For a comedy show about video games, this episode hit hard and made me reflect on past relationships and really broke me down. A reminder to take responsibility of your actions when you feel like the blame is external.

Then there’s a very brief end scene that puts it in context with the regular cast.

This episode should have won an award.

It’s the equivalent of corporations changing their Facebook profile picture to a rainbow. It basically costs then nothing, especially if affected areas have no electricity.

The sequel Fade to Black was too clunky to enjoy. I never played the remake but I hear the remake is getting a sequel, so I might pick it up.

My favourite was Flashback. Kind of the spiritual sequel to Another World. I had the SNES version. I think it’s my all time favourite video game.

It wasn’t the tank controls per se. It was the tile based actions. Tomb Raider was basically a 3D Prince of Persia game. If you’re running and you press the jump button, the character would jump the next time to got to the edge of the current tile. It was a very deliberate and measured way to plan your moves.

They did that with Tomb Raider, but ironically the obtuse controls were pivotal to the game design.

The production values are good, and it’s generally entertaining, but I just can’t cope with the gaps in logic and the seemingly deliberate attempts to make it conflict with the Alien films.

I’d rather re-watch the Red Letter Media review than the film itself.
