We had a fridge that was manufactured in 1998 that lasted until November of last year when it failed irreparably. We replaced it, and 13 months later, 2 days before thanksgiving, our new fridge failed. It was like pulling teeth to get the warranty servicer to get it repaired.

Repairman finally figured out what was wrong with it yesterday, replaced the seized up defroster and it’s running again.

That’s still so ridiculous for an appliance to break that early in its lifetime.

Very strange that OP joined Lemmy barely an hour ago and hit the ground running posting rapid fire articles within minutes of each other or within the same minute, targeting multiple states and countries (So far, Alabama, New York, Ohio, California, Canada, and Ireland). Just very odd behavior for a new account.

It’s such an insidious thing and for me it was very difficult to escape from because I kept rationalizing the abuse I was subjected to.

To anyone currently living in this kind of environment: Get out as soon as possible. I know it is hard and maybe they try to convince you that no one will ever like or love you/care for you as much as they do but it’s not true. As soon as you have the opportunity, leave them, and cut all contact.

I used Anki to study for my Amateur Radio exam. Was very versatile and easy to use. Definitely recommend it.
