Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper.
Yes, I’m old.
But it does depend what kind of mood I’m in, and what kind of soothing I need.
In some cases: Chaser EP - Femtanyl.
Sometimes if I’m stressed I play guitar and something I quite often play is Time After Time!
If you played Femtanyl, I’d be really impressed :D
The album August and Everything After by Counting Crows.
If I’m feeling angsty I like early Nine Inch Nails
If I just want to chill then maybe “The K&D Sessions”
Most songs by dire straits, particularly ride across the river. Also definitely not heavy fuel
Don’t know why - Norah Jones
Ralph Vaughan Williams - The Lark Ascending (I’m partial to Hilary Hahn’s 2004 performance with the London Symphony Orchestra directed by Colin Davis).
I recently discovered the piano and violin version of this, rather than the full orchestral version. It’s much more intimate and would be my choice for a more soothing experience. The orchestral version is so emotional for me, that sometimes I wouldn’t be able to describe it as soothing.
Green Arrow - Yo La Tengo
Dancing on my own - Robyn’s version
Lovely Day - Bill Withers
Ants Marching - Dave Matthews Band
Rap Snitches Knishes - MF Doom
Mahna Mahna - Mahna Mahna and the Snowths
Tattoo of the Sun - Third Eye Blind
Not a specific song, but a band: Hail the Sun
MGMT - Little Dark Age
Elwynn Forest theme. Or Dream Theater’s Trial of tears
Stormwind theme feels like home to me
Also amazing, but more… epic rather than tranquil.
Any song by Galdive
Pastoral- Moondog
