It looks like an fps coop game. Is the coop necessary or can it be played single player aswell?

It looks so good, I loved the first one even tho I played mostly solo and 2nd one seems like an improvement in almost every way, I wanted to wait a few months before getting it but that’s getting pretty challenging with all the good reviews it’s been getting
