I really hope they patch some of the bugs then because otherwise it’s gonna be unplayable. I have to use the remove glitch mod since my save got bugged after the glitch effect got stuck permanently on my character after a convo with Johnny.

Tbh I’m still not sure what the point of it is. In gtav you get into trouble with police if you rob shops, steal cars or drive over pedestrians, among other things like scripted missions. In saints row it’s about gang warfare and them being a nuisance during your city demolition. In mafia you have to obey road laws, hide weapons from plain sight and they are generally a bigger threat.
You can’t rob stuff or do heists in 2077, you can summon your own car for free at any point so no need to steal them and since you can fast travel you don’t drive as much anyway. The missions that do have car chases are heavily scripted and on the rails.
Is this something just for people who want to go out of their way to fight endless waves of cops and thats it or am I missing something that makes it such a hype worthy feature?
Tbh I’m not really a fan of this stance either. If I’m buying a sequel I expect meaningful improvements, otherwise you’re just ripping me off for something that could have been a dlc or expansion to the first game.
I am always tempted to try new ARPGs because games like D1, D2, Titan Quest, Dungeon Siege, Sacred etc. were my childhood but honestly I can’t stand the grind and repetition anymore - I kinda want a good challenging combat system that makes me feel good, play the game through once or twice and be done with it, with as little pointless filler as possible.
Would you say Last Epoch can be played like this or is it more like PoE and D3/4 in the way that it’s mostly about item grind and stat crunching? I do not expect it to be a game for me at all, and that’s very okay, but with all the praise about combat and build variety I can’t help but hope a little bit.
The issue is not open world. The issue is bioware. At this point the only thing that could get me interested in ME or DA again is if someone else gets the rights to the IP.
That sounds like the smart option tbh, I am still not convinced 2.0 will address my biggest issues with the game like gear progression and inventory. Not really sold on the skill rework either, looks kinda as boring as before. Maybe I get the dlc eventually but there’s no rush - it’s not like they are making more dlcs for the game and need the money, and the sequel is already confirmed anyway.
I really wanted it to be great but for every high the game hit for me, it had double the amount of lows. I can’t really be bothered to get hyped anymore for it.
I am also kinda upset that people can’t post reviews on steam, it feels like cheating the system. The game is out, over 200 000 people are playing it, why can’t we see its score? How is it different from any other big launch? Should all early access games not be reviewable until they are out, meaning some can’t get a score for years and years?

yeah seems like we have a bunch now, lemmy.world one seems the biggest tho

We’re going to have a lot of these, we should probably setup a review megathread or something? Does this magazine even have mods btw? :D
I really hope it turns out well. Fallout/Skyrim with spaceships is basically my dream game and if this can live up to it even half way through, it’s still going to be better than any other attempt at it in the last decade (looking at you SC, NMS, ED, X4).
I’m still gonna give it at least 6 months before getting it though, maybe by then we get some substantial patches or (UI) mods as well. I still have some other big games in the backlog so I’m in no rush, after all I’ve been waiting a while for sth like this ^^
They are the ones tho brought it up, chill
This truly seems like a cursed genre - I was really hoping to get some alternative warframe-adjacent game to play during content droughts but it seems it’s not meant to be. Looks like another mmo-lite looter shooter that seems to have missed its mark, both in terms of gameplay, grind and monetization.
It is still in early access (that you have to pay to access) but it’s supposed to be released and f2p within a year so we’ll see what happens then.
I heard that inventory management and transferring items between party members is a chore, which is a shame since it’s something that PF games have already solved - shared inventory space for all party members. It makes it so much more convenient and fun to use than the mess DOS games had.
Omg seeing the little dudes in the corner on a LED screen gave me nostalgia flashbacks, I don’t remember what specifically it was but I played so many games using that tech back when I was a kid
I had to force myself to not get BG3 before I finish WOTR at least. I love games like these but after a few dozen hours the cognitive load or something becomes too much and I just feel exhausted from them, there’s too many things to track for little benefit.
I kinda agree with most of hese points tbh, I still have an account on Mastodon but due to issues outlined in the article it is still very empty and soulless to me, even compared to twitter that after all the bullshit it’s been going through still has actual interesting content and people there (and the algorithm that actually shows me their content I’m interested in instead of an chronological timeline with 90% worthless comments).
It looks so good, I loved the first one even tho I played mostly solo and 2nd one seems like an improvement in almost every way, I wanted to wait a few months before getting it but that’s getting pretty challenging with all the good reviews it’s been getting
And then I get even more random irrelevant crap because everyone talking about their latest rp adventures in stardew valley tags steam, gaming, indiegaming and other general hashtags.
Unfortunately this is not the fault of mastodon, its community or tech behind it as much as … nobody from twitter actually moving to mastodon. There aren’t many big influencers, companies or content creators on mastodon so your feed is just random people talking about random stuff. The lack of algorithm doesn’t help either since someone’s random showerthoughts have the same chance of showing up for you as does something trending that you’d actually be interested in.
I’m still holding our hope they just patch in a shared inventory system slike to the one in wrath of the righteous (or we get a mod for it). Inventory managment has always been a huge chore in DOS1 and 2 and something that would actively hamper my enjoyment of these games.
