I was once talking with one of my classmates and he said that in the future, there will be universal basic income implemented by entire world. I was not convinced at that time and thought he is just being stupid but given the layoffs happening and massive amount of unemployment, I am thinking about this possibility. What do you say?

We’re 30% there already, between long term unemployed and people on social security. I support more. Human rights include food, shelter, healthcare, but not everyone has figured that out yet.

Right? I think 4% of American adults of working age are on ssdi. I’d guestimate another 2-4% are existing on some sort of other welfare type schemes. More housing estates, less aircraft carriers please!
