An angry mob allegedly beat them. The police charged them. The municipality voted for one of the most severe anti-trans bathroom ordinances in the country.

They say they didn’t even punch back. Still, a plea deal may help them avoid jailtime. But Sanders and Rush aren’t signing.

USA is a cesspool of psychopathy. The country disgust me more every day.

It’s our Nazi era where we allow hate to consume us. I’m trying to get out, personally.

If it makes it any better Louisiana has always been a shithole even by American standards. My grandmother’s great grandmother left Louisiana way back in the day because it was too much of a dumpster fire even then. For reference my grandmother was born in 1956.

And that’s why I started carrying a gun.

I’m not trans, but I’m also not going to watch a crowd fucking beat a lady to death for peeing when I could do something about it. What are they gonna do, lock me up for defending a life? Try.

Yes they absolutely will. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be the right thing to do and worthwhile, but they are hoping for that as an excuse to more radically escalate state violence.

If the government can take away anyone’s rights, they can take away everyone’s rights.

This is the line in the sand and people on our side don’t get to decide if things will get violent. The fascists are going to get violent. The question is, are you getting on that first Trump Train to a concentration camp?

You’re goddamn right. It’s not “how would it happen” it’s “when is it going to happen”

So now we have the original problem (in which no one was killed) and two or more people pointing guns at each other as well. Does that decrease or increase the chances of someone getting killed?

No, we have a deceased bigot, and me on the phone to one of the lawyers in my family, or I’m dead and his ass is going away.

Either way, the girl is ok.

You make it sound like it would be a bad think if the perpetrators got shot and killed for their hate crime. They deserve no better than an untimely end to life.

Religious demographics of Louisiana, 74% Christian, 4% other religions, 21% unaffiliated, according to Pew Research. Wanna take bets that mob had a high percentage of Christians? Would beating a couple of transgenders in the park be new testament treatment, or old testament? I’m thinking the latter…

This seems like the textbook definition of a hate crime and one of the perpetrators is the government.
