I had family in Nola, I’m good lmao. Everyone thinks Southerners are dramatic or exaggerating, but the Southern States hands-down have the worst climate in the country thanks to the humidity and heat mixture.

Especially if you’re away from the cost, it’s all the worst parts of tropical temperatures without an ounce of the good.

The high right now is 99, the feels like is 109, and having just come inside, there’s just enough breeze right now to piss you off rather than cool you. We have an extreme heat warning from now until the fuckin 3rd, and a lot of us have zero legal protection from working outside in this God forsaken heat.

I’ve been hearing of some local construction crews threatening the bosses if they have to go outside in this heat, and I know many people in my industry are currently quitting because our northern us based corporate overlords decided this week to get a stick up their ass about uniforms, insisting upon heavy ass cargo pants, a thick cotton undershirt, an even thicker polo, and the most unnecessarily heavy duty safety vest. My crew of 10 lost 2 people this week because they refused to go out in this bullshit wearing all that. The rest of us also refused, but corporate made an example out of them.

That being said, Louisiana is still worse. And I’d argue most of Alabama.
