What did Thomas Jefferson say about each generation’s struggle for liberty?
I don’t have any answer to offer other than “We’re likely about to find out”.
Edit: Sus question from a brand new account, but a good one.
I would give my life’s savings if you were able to give me 101% certainty that you would turn all Jeff bezos properties that he owns or any company of his owns literally countrywide into homeless shelters and make him live in a 2 bed 2 bath in the suburbs because that would also mean if I lost my job I would have somewhere to go and that’s already more certainty of safety than my life currently has.
“Justice is an abstract concept. If you want justice, read a comic book”- Dr K, Power Rangers RPM
What is justice?
There are two justices. social justice and personal justice and they are never the same.
social justice is the light that shines on the truth of the people.
personal justice is the personal truth that exposes our inner darkness.
example: a rapist is caught, tried, convicted, and sentenced to prison. the victims want the rapist to suffer as they suffered. nothing wrong with this, but certainly displays a darkness we often hide.
What are you willing to sacrifice for broad accountability?
my freedom, whatever that’s worth these days.
Are you free?
is a pig free?
Is oppression ever warranted?
yes. oppress the oppressors.
Are you willing to become inconvenienced for the truth?
is there any other way?
How far will you go?
as far as my spite will carry me.
