Gregory Bovino’s outwear choice prompts German commentators to compare it to fascist aesthetic
A greatcoat worn by the senior US border patrol official Gregory Bovino, who has spearheaded aggressive immigration operations across the country, has raised eyebrows in German media with some commentators saying it resembled a fascist aesthetic.
Bovino has been an increasingly recognisable figure during the raids in Minneapolis for the brass-buttoned, calf-length olive green coat, which is unlike the fatigues and body armor worn by many of the federal agents.
Along with his close-shorn haircut, the media organization Der Spiegel suggested in a video feature that Bovino’s look recalled that of a Nazi officer.

It’s more than just a look.
These thugs ostensibly about “immigration enforcement” are amping up to be death squads. And the conservatives cheer for it. Because they have been told everyone not a Taco fan is a “communist” and is out to get them.

If it looks like a nazi, walks like a nazi and salutes like a nazi , then it’s a fucking nazi.
Yeah it concerns me and annoys me to no end that this is overall acceptable.
Both my parents and my two uncles were in World War II. My dad and his brothers did bombing runs. My mother was conscripted and helped in the mayor’s office. She was also at Dunkirk helping unload the wounded from boats. I spent 39 yrs of my life listening to to what the war was about from people that were there. It’s absolutely inane that people don’t think that this is all related to nazism.
Well, whole lotta conservatives (and their handmaidens, the “Elevated Centrists” or the “Principled Independents”) have been screeching at everyone for decades about how unfair it all is to point out when conservatives are letting their mask slip and we can see the fascism and someone points it out in frank terms.
Even the guy Godwin’s Law is named for has said that it’s more or less revoked. I don’t know why so many act as if someone has “lost an argument” if they call actual Nazis what they are…

Idiots. It is a typical military non-field (don’t know the correct term in English)coat. Some “journalists” are too lazy and suck out headlines from nowhere.
Can you provide an image of other members of law enforcement wearing similar attire? It obviously looks like WW2 German / Nazi garb.
