Let’s assume for a second that these people were innocent (tough to do for us Americans, assuming people are innocent before given a fair trial by their peers), and their boat suddenly explodes in the middle of the ocean. Are they expected to stay floating in the open ocean forever just in case a second explosion happens? Or are they expected to try to not drown or get eaten by sharks?
