People sometimes ask me why I, as a Canadian, care so much about what happens in US politics.

This is why. Because you mouth-breathing, knuckle dragging neolithic reprobates have been handed the keys to an economy and military so powerful that you can bully the rest of the world into doing whatever the fuck you like and rather than treat that as the awe inspiring responsibility that it is, you low-life ignorant pieces of shit get drunk and go joy-riding.

The US’s democracy has been systematically and continuously eroded for decades, from defunding of the arts/education, defunding of social services, citizens united, consolidation of all media outlets under a few wealthy individuals that shape the US narrative. The people are misinformed, and even so a large majority of those who aren’t are impoverished and barely surviving. Election day isn’t a holiday meaning some of them can’t afford to take time off to vote. And that’s ignoring the gerrymandering and voter suppression that’s been rampant for decades now too, swaying local and statewide elections. Most people don’t want this, but everything is working against us, most of us don’t want this and didn’t vote for him or his chronies. And for the people in the comments saying “that’s not how a democracy works” CORRECT ours has been dying since the 80’s at the least, and it’s not like America was this shining rod of democracy before that either. It’s not the citizens doing this, they don’t have any say in this type of thing, it’s those who have forced, bribed, and conned their way into power doing everything.

As an American I genuinely fear for the upcoming primaries because in no way do I trust that the results will be legitimate, and even if they are I feel as though they’ll be fucking ignored.

“Living next to the Americans is like sleeping next to an elephant, no matter how quiet and even tempered the beast we feel every fit and start”

      -The original Trudeau

The beast isn’t being very quiet and even tempered right now

Yeah we’re up here always trying to do better while you’re down there wallowing in your decline into fascism.

There isn’t any country in the world that’s perfect, but y’all just gave up.

The world needs to put the US on block. Fuck the country till they un-fascist themselves. US should be in the same category as N Korea and Russia right now— fucking pariahs.

This is a huge surprise for the rest of the world though

They had almost agreed to settle on this. It was meant to be a formality until the USA bullied its way by threatening tariffs on countries that would vote for it

This is undemocratic and in the end, will hurt the USA more than the rest of us

I hope that the world will soon have had enough of these methods. This is much much larger than two sides in one country

people here unfortunately cannot see the political landscape because the two parties here act like parade balloons

big enough to be in the way blocking views and roads but all air inside
