About 143 million people in the U.S. were under heat alerts Tuesday as a dangerous heat dome lingers over a major swath of the Midwest, South and Southwest.
Supposed to get up to 91 (feels like 102) today here in West-Central Indiana. Up to 99 on Thursday. I can’t even imagine what it’s like further south.
It was 110 with a heat index over 120 because of humidity in Kansas this past weekend. 102 with a heat index of 116 projected for today.
I am actually looking forward to the low humidity low 100s over the next few days because it will at least be tolerable in the shade with a light breeze.
100 and dry is still super hot but it’s bearable because your sweat actually evaporates.
But yeah I’m on the Texas coast so although the Gulf technically offers some cooling down to like 103 the past couple of days, it also makes it 95% humidity.
The dew starts the moment the sun dips below the horizon.
Looking at the weather for today, it’s supposed to be 103° F (that’s 39°C) and 50% humidity. We aren’t OK here in OK.
