Ya all the gun nuts, aren’t you supposed to bear arms at this point? Wasn’t that the point?

We’re so fucked. Could we maybe not have world war three at the same time as climate induced system collapse? Is that too much to ask for?

Gonna be a rough time. Maybe we will have it all at once and wipe out 3/4 of the worlds population and maybe the planet will recovery a few generations later.

But that would be a stretch of a silver lining.

Global CO2 production dropped dramatically for years after WW2. It doesn’t even take eliminating a significant fraction of the population to drastically improve our emissions, all it takes is a large economic impact. Less global prosperity = less CO2.

So hey, maybe this is great for the planet… (But still really bad for the human race)

I have 4 able-bodied nephews between the ages of 14 and 24 on my wife’s side and all my in-laws are all MAGA. I wonder how they’ll justify one or more of those boys dying in Iran once WWIII is in full swing.

Either Iran negotiates some more, digs into nuclear weapon development, has regime change, or things go to shit more broadly. Same 4 options that were available before and these strikes do nothing but make things worse for every party involved. Just more Trump machismo, best I can hope is that it’s 3 strikes and we are out… but I really doubt it.

The bombing actually makes the chances of regime change even harder. There’s nothing like being attacked by a foreign adversary to galvanize support for an authoritarian regime.
