2 years agoI’ve always wondered if subscriptions would balloon if they just charged like $2 per month. But I think they set the price where it is so it can be competitive vs potential ad revenue (which they are amping up like crazy)

I quite enjoy YouTube premium. I was an avid Adblock/YouTube Vanced user before, but now that I am a little older and make more money, I realized it’s worth it to me to get premium. I don’t pay for any other streaming services, and YouTube is what I watch the most so I figured why not support it.
It makes me feel better knowing my money gets distributed to creators as well through YouTube. That did not happen before as I always blocked ads. Plus I don’t need Spotify if I want to stream music because I have YouTube music. And YouTube music actually seems to have more of the music I like anyways, plus I already liked finding music through YouTube channels anyways.
I’m not advocating that everyone should buy YouTube premium, I’m just saying that it can have its merits for some people.
