I think it’s phrased like this because it’s less acceptable for men to express feelings like sadness or loneliness. men and boys who are lonely and alienated can more easily fall down the Andrew Tate/4Chan/Jordan Peterson/blackpill pipeline which yields violent extremist behavior. I mean the Wordpress founder alone should be enough. I work a lot w people migrating from Woocommerce and I have not been impressed. API routes that 500 randomly, horribly messy data, etc. That of course is my biased view based on a subset of Woo merchants. I invite anyone looking to migrate from Shopify to heavily weigh their options.
because they told their front line support to say “no comment” on matters unrelated to Shopify stores? it seems like they took the store down, which really has little to do with the influx of support tickets and calls they likely got. I worked support for years – this is amazingly unsurprising and I think the correct move, if they did indeed take down the store that is.

31·3 months agoI have a novice programmer friend who created an app with authentication with AI. It used create-react-app (deprecated for years now) and had him roll his own OAuth layer manually with Express. When you refresh, you get logged out.
It’s an awesome project to learn some skills, but only a seasoned programmer would know to never roll your own auth, or to not use CRA, etc.
We are in for some interesting times.
He just knows you have to fight fire with fire so he’s tackling inflation by raising prices
3·5 months agoIt’s not exactly what you mean, but merely mentioning abstinence evokes abstinence educators in the US for me. Abstinence education is bullshit. What kid needs to be told the only way to avoid STDs is to not have sex? Anyone with a functioning brain knows that. Abstinence educators are by and large Christian fundamentalists who go to schools to lie about sex and try to scare kids out of it.
Somehow I attended a public school which had one of these “educators” come by and preach about the purity of abstinence to my entire class. It was surreal and insulting to our intelligence.

I really don’t know. I think it’s more people are glad he’s feeling the violence he put out into the world and because guns are so free and loose. To me it’s still quite a big deal, having not really lived through any assassinations in my life 😅
Does he have to fire his weapon for it to be an attempt? Wheres the line? The FBI is calling it an attempt. I suppose we’ll see if this is entrapment too. Until then, this kinda looks like an assassination attempt
