That’s a good point. Those 20% of data centers getting cancelled were probably planned by the smaller companies i suppose…

While I’m sure the end result will be worse for us in a lot of other ways, one thing i found oddly positive is how his stupid decisions are going to fuck things up:
Most absurdly, given the priorities of Trump’s AI Action Plan, that tariff approach would cost the US about $90 billion annually in GDP losses and cause about 20 percent of data center projects planned through 2030 to be delayed or canceled
I’ve read that certain GLPs used for weight loss can also cause a distaste for alcohol. Someone that had been a somewhat regular drinker was interviewed saying they suddenly found that they didn’t like the taste anymore and stopped drinking alcoholic beverages.
Not gonna say that’s the whole cause of course, but it may be a contributing factor.

Makes perfect sense! How many companies would you expect to own all the popular dating sites? 5? 10?
Of course not! There should only be one company controlling entire markets, it’s the American way 🤡

I don’t understand why he insists on making this a thing. I mean, i can see why he would get involved–he’s a repugnant incel-pilled dork who has to offer compensation in exchange for sex because literally nobody wants to do it with him. This is how he gets his revenge on women for not acquiescing to his disgusting advances.
But looking beyond all that, i still want to understand why he believes it’s so important that it exists–that he’s willing to fight lawsuits over it. I don’t know if this properly explains it, but i think it’s important to see what they’re saying about it.
In the lawsuit, xAI said the terms of service for using Grok prohibit using it for “any illegal, harmful, or abusive activities” that violate someone’s privacy, including altering their image to nudify them or depict them in a sexually explicit image. It said it enforces those rules against violators through account suspensions or terminations, and by reporting suspected child sexual abuse content.
xAI also said earlier this year that it has “zero tolerance for any forms of child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity, and unwanted sexual content”.
After a global backlash over sexualized images of women and children, Grok said in January it will geo-block content if it violates laws in a particular place, preventing people from editing photos of real people in revealing clothing in places where that is illegal. Grok’s “spicy mode” had allowed users to create explicit content, leading to a backlash from governments worldwide.
“We have implemented technological measures to prevent the Grok account from allowing the editing of images of real people in revealing clothing such as bikinis, underwear and other revealing attire,” xAI said in a January statement.
It sounds like this thing isn’t going to be allowed nearly anywhere if it’s as restricted as they claim it is. Which leads me of course to the fact that this asshole will do whatever he wants regardless of the law and anyone that wants to challenge him can try to get their day in court. Bonus points for their self-policing solution, lol. I’m sure Grok’ll be turning pedos in left and right 🥴
The 70s/80s is the sweet spot
Far from it. As a technician there are way more service calls on newer appliances and much shorter life cycles for them. Certain fairly universal parts are clearly being made at a lower standard now as well. For instance, a very common repair is gas oven ignitors. Many different manufacturers use the exact same style of hot surface ignitors. The ones i see these days burn out in ½ the time or less than they ever used to, even though the design of them hasn’t changed one iota.
There is a clear and obvious lack of quality in today’s appliances. An old Maytag washer could last 25 years with minimal repairs/maintenance. A newer Maytag doing the same work over the same duration would be lucky to get ½ that mileage before it got shit-canned, though it’s likely it would happen even sooner than that. The comparison in design is night and day. The old one was simple, field-tested design made for reliability and relative ease of service…the other is a hodgepodge of electronics and sensors connected by Angel-Hair spaghetti-thin wiring that will have something break in less than 10 years with regular use, and likely less than 5 with heavy use. Sure, a few of the old Maytag’s didn’t go the distance and a few of the newer ones managed to squeak out more mileage than expected…but anyone with real experience with those 2 machines would take the old one over the new one every single time. It’s almost unfair to compare an old Maytag washer to a new one because the most important metric is reliability and there’s simply no comparison there.
Do people genuinely think modern tech is that durable/reliable?

Are we great again yet, though? That’s what he told us he was gonna do 🤔

Oh, that?! That’s just the gaslighting, lol. Hey look over here, a shiny penny!!

So a teacher got 27 years, what about the people who owned and operated this disgusting enterprise?

Get ready!!!

It’s funny they even do anything about it at this point. It’s not like they’re ever going to be put out of business

Can’t allow them to steal business from ‘legit’ gambling sites like Polymarket and Draft Kings right?!

Oh man, i hope everyone is ok 🙏
Side of ketchup included

Oh, you don’t actually expect them to pay all that money back, do you? It’s already been spent! 😬

❤️❤️❤️ that is a screen that would have put a tremendous smile on my face back in the day. Hell, it perked me up quite a bit just now, lol
“Illusion, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money…”
