At first I thought this tactic with this deal would be fantastic. The US could make this deal and bring in companies and have forces there to defend the investment. It would be a really strong showing, not only to Russia but also domestic audience, but not directly.
Too bad its just a dumbass Trump tactic.
I don’t understand this. It’s really unlikely Ukraine has so many mineral resources and even if they do, the investments needed to extract them would be huge. Wouldn’t the investments alone and manpower needed be worth it for Ukraine. It’s not really likely that Ukraine will be able to finance this extraction themselves?
All this assumptions rely on how I understand this deal to be structured, but I really don’t know how this works.
What if these traps would be generated everywhere. If each site had one. You could not train a model anymore, and except from intensely curated content. That would be interesting.
Worst case scenario, I don’t think money spent on supercomputers is the worst way to spend money. That in itself has brought chip design and development forward. Not to mention ai is already invaluable with a lot of science research. Invaluable!

Definitely not skills. But both sides in the war want to have a strong start to the negotiation. Ukraine might give up Crimea officially for NATO membership. Russia will do anything that will look like they won.
Trump doesn’t care, but on the other hand I really don’t think he is a Russian asset.
Russia is playing their negotiating well. They have projected strength and total commitment to their claimed goals. They were able to do it, because of the diplomatic blunders by the Trump administration. Until now US have not said anything about Russian concessions. They were mentioned, but nothing specific.
On the other side, the Ukrainians will never accept anything close to what the Russians want. Even if America tries to force the conditions on them, they will still have some support from Europe.
Trump wants this. I mean, let’s get serious, if he does it, he could legitimately expect the Nobel prize. I’m not even joking, if he does, he would be an idiot savant of peacemaking. It’s highly unlikely though, but what is his way out?

You elect the government. Not to mention they have way more oversight. There is a system of checks and balances. For sure it may seem it’s totally corrupt and not working, but that’s nothing compared to what the billionaires have in mind.
That is an insane proposition. You are trusting your elected officials less than a billionaire that sees you at best as a cow to milk. I cannot comprehend such a thought .
He is not paid by the Russian propaganda. He is honest in his beliefs.
He is a prime example of a person that is not a bad person per se, but just too dumb to understand the complexities and chaotic nature of the world. So they invent shortcuts in their brain, the same kind right wing demagogues are pushing. It is inevitable that he becomes a right wing propagandist.

No. Not at all. Most people don’t think about it. They go about their business and think about their job, their kids,spouses, friends, cars, … They think about their local politics, not in relation to American. Than if they do think about american politics, they say to themselves: what a bunch of clowns, then they think of something else.
I understand you are hurt and angry.
But you have to understand there are people out there from all around the world, that have no desire to observe the grotesque circus of american politics. You are in your own bubble of people that think the world has ended, but most people in the world have different worries and concerns.
