Do you know that the bananas you probably eat (maybe not, idk you) are at risk of going functionally extinct because of a type of fungus? A similar thing happened with Gros Michel bananas, which are not actually extinct but commercially unviable due to said fungus.
Many plants require multitudes of antibiotics, pest control poisons and other measures simply to be able to ship and supply grocery stores with enough ‘goods’ to fill shelves. Regardless of whether or not the majority of those ‘goods’ end up being thrown away. You are right in thinking that it is wrong — because it is.
Lentils, for example, do very poorly when competing with weeds. This is why herbicides are required very early on to grow lentils, otherwise they simply won’t compete as well. It doesn’t really matter if it’s organic or not — you are still required to use those pesticides.
One would think ‘well then maybe we shouldn’t grow as many lentils’ — and you’d be right! Now, say that to all the vegans that are more or less required to eat lentils due to their protein and vitamin content. Suddenly things aren’t nearly as clean cut as ‘simply don’t do the thing’.

I may have, at one point. Then I realized that the only reason anyone leaves a ‘positive legacy’ is because they actively sought to paint themselves that way. In other words, they managed to trick you and everyone else into thinking that it was their singular will that manifested all of this positivity.
Positive legacies are not the product of any one person, they are a collective effort, and the collective shares both the credit and the spoils.
You have to keep in mind, what is a positive legacy? Is it simply being remembered? No, because I’ve surely planted many trees (I drop seeds where I go) — will anyone remember the man who dropped the seeds?
When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all.

No that’s just true, videos are designed around ad slots — not content. A text guide you can scan through yourself is infinitely superior.
Edit: caveat, 30 second videos from some Indian dude in his apartment. Them shits are gold.

Clancy was a staunch conservative. Dedicated several of his books to notable conservative politicans such as Ronald Reagan. He supported the NRA (yes I understand the NRA has changed form over the years but I don’t really care) and he opposed abortion.
He praised Bush for being a ‘good guy’, granted he did challenge the justifications for the Iraq War (I also don’t really care about a broken clock managing to be right).
I haven’t read any of his novels for a very long time, but what I remember is that amongst the tech and spy stuff there is stuff that sounds like very clear RW propaganda (to me).
Granted, this is the first time I’ve thought about Clancy in years outside of conversations with my (you might have guessed it) conservative coworker. I don’t really know much about the man other than he was definitely conservative. I think you could probably make the argument that he was center right, and that the center right from the 60’s is very different than the center right of today. Draw your own conclusions.

Why would Clancy write anything that isn’t in full support of conservative idealogy?
You must have tree trunks for legs, but my very literal perception of this joke has always been ‘uphill, no downhill — just uphill’. As if they were on some kind of treadmill of hell.
But that’s not a hill? What were you, rich?
I think that small talk is an ever constant reminder of the pervasive nature that is ‘wanting to be happy’.
Don’t get me wrong, there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with wanting to be happy. There is something wrong about being willing to sacrifice anything for what you perceive is the thing (or person, or hobby, or whatever) that will bring you happiness.
I think that the reason small talk is so fucking meaningless is because we all are just seeking some measure of peace and happiness in our lives. We simply can’t tell everyone who asks that our day is going terribly, for one thing it will make us feel worse — for another it will also make everyone that has to tolerate us feel worse. So we say “Fine” or “Good” or “Tired” or “The weather has me down” or whatever other instantly acceptable and obvious answer is easiest and ends the interaction quickly.
I think if we allowed people to be more honest with themselves that things like small talk wouldn’t really exist beyond trying to fill a silent void. But sure, friendly human noises go brrr.

In India?
That seems like not such a good choice depending on where you live.
Edit: I know it’s a joke, but seriously it seems like every time I hear about Uttar Pradesh it’s… bad.

Do you have any idea how ‘Obama care’ started? Because it wasn’t his idea, it was Romney-care first. Kicker here is that Romney-care was spawned by the Heritage Foundation. The ones responsible for Project 2025.
You draw whatever conclusions you want from that.

Damn, so what you’re saying is that it still isn’t 50%. Crazy.
If you think the .2% matters I’m going to start listing propaganda talking points from the 2024 presidential election cycle.
Hey, you can’t just smash my trash with a hammer!
Something tells me philosophers are typically not too concerned with attracting sexual partners.

Then can Australia go ahead and take its garbage back? Cuz it’s kind of destroying the U.S.

We’ve got something like 6.4 million Conservatives in California. Something to consider, they won’t just accept no longer being a part of the U.S. .

Yes I understand killfeeds are different in each game, you can move on now.

Specifically looking at the games he played, his name will show up constantly as:
Donald Trump was fragged by X. Donald Trump was stabbed by Y. X was splattered by Donald Trump.
Kill feeds, it’s an old joke for gamers. Obama splattered Miley Cyrus, that kind of shit. I don’t think ‘2.)’ is accurate, at all.

No, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
