I’ve gotten the runaround from cops who confidently say things that aren’t true. I had a neighbor who was a lieutenant at the time, and talked to him about the issue I was dealing with. He told me in no uncertain terms that the cop was wrong, and suggested I go back when my neighbor was on duty, and if I got the runaround again then to immediately call him.

My first job out of college was mostly luck. I took a job doing tech support but after a couple of years was able to transition into development work.
Virtually every job since that first one has been thanks to connections I made among coworkers. I got my current job because I knew two employees here. One of them was a co-founder of the company, and somebody I’ve known since the 1990’s and worked with at 3 other companies prior to this.

I doubt it’s the case with this theft given how it was done, but my wife recently finished reading a book about Stéphane Breitwieser who admitted to stealing over 200 works of art from smaller museums throughout Europe in the late 90s. He kept pretty much everything he stole for his personal collection.
So called “less than lethal” weapons can and do still kill people:
If you see a vehicle with no license plates & it’s doing anything even remotely unusual (speeding, driving erratically, etc) then call 911 and report it. If it’s driving erratically then tell 911 that you’re concerned the driver could be drunk etc. given the behavior you’re witnessing.
Remember how Putin stole a Super Bowl ring from Bob Kraft? He just asked to look at it then walked out of the room with it. I bet Trump would do exactly the same thing with a Nobel medal if he had the chance.

Well did the ICE agents submit to gender checks first, to make sure they’re using the correct restroom? A copy of their birth certificate should suffice.
Even home battery solutions. We have solar panels & a Powerwall. Were part of a Virtual Power Plant along with around 1500 other Powerwall owners in the region. During peak usage in the summer all our PowerWalls feed back to the grid so that our utility provider doesn’t have to spin up expensive (and dirty) peaker plants. We get paid a premium for the power we provide during these events.
I saw articles here on Lemmy just a month or two ago that Tesla successfully tested a VPP in California that consisted of 100,000 PowerWalls.

Haven’t there already been documented cases of thieves dressing up this way? And the FBI also reportedly warned DHS/ICE that this was likely to happen if they continued to cover their faces etc.
