JB Pritzker is from one of America’s wealthiest families, yet inexplicably seems to not be a rat bastard. Like monkeys typing Shakespeare, it’s unlikely but possible.
Obese gray male, introverted, cranky, woke but needs a nap. Enjoys solitude, old movies, long bus rides, and a good bowel movement.

At the rate Trump’s dismantling the Constitution, who really thinks there’ll be elections in 2028?
I’d seen the headlines, but most — like TPM’s — haven’t included the name Brent Bozell. He’s quite reprehensible, even by Trump standards. Young folks might need an introduction.
High cruelty payoffs! That’s always the top concern for Republicans.
Breathtakingly cheery headline there, Associated Press.
Makes sense. Thanks for thinking it through for me. (:
Why does the Institute of Peace have a gun safe?
I’m not lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, or questioning, but I’ve been to Pride events in San Francisco, and a few other cities, because they’re fun and inspiring and subversive! Pre-corporate, Pride was about announcing yourself and being yourself, and I don’t know what the heck Comcast or Anheuser-Busch adds to that, beyond muddying the event by making it about cable TV or beer or something. My straight gut says, going without corporate sponsorships will make the parades and parties more fun.
Despite the rhetoric, the Trump administration has so far not openly defied a court order…
I guess nobody at AP reads the news.
Poor polling only matters if there’ll be elections.
That certainly seems to be the plan.
Why would anyone who’s not a Nazi perform or attend a performance at Trump’s Kennedy Center?

Katie Porter is one of the very few good guys. She’d be a terrific governor for California, so I expect the Democratic Party will do all they can to oppose her.
One administrative judge at Equal Employment Opportunity Commission speaks out for equal employment opportunity, as the Commission turns the other way.
Reuters’ headline sure softpedals the facts. I can almost hear an editor saying, We want something upbeat, dang it — make it cheerier!
“The courts are trying to do the best with what they’ve been given, which is a crappy statute that doesn’t make any sense,” said Ryan Dischinger, a public defender. “This statute was passed because, quite frankly, our legislature doesn’t like to look at homeless people.”
To whatever extent prosecutors & judges are trying to be decent about it, thanks and all, but the trying to be decent can end with any election. This law is just a loaded gun pointed at poor people.
It takes brains and money for foreign kids to be accepted at American universities, so these are future movers-and-shakers in their home countries. When they return, they’ll spend the rest of their lives justifiably badmouthing the U S of A, warning others to stay away. Like so much of what Trump is doing, the repercussions will live on, long after he’s gone.
Excellent link round-up, by the way.
