Trump is literally insane, he is a malignant narcissist (psychopath of the worst kind possible) to a degree that he completely denies reality.
Shame on the majority of American people for electing such a man president.
I will never see USA as the same again after electing Trump TWICE! Bush was already a huge step down when he was elected for a 2nd term. But Trump is insane, and I can only conclude that insanity is a major part of American society for electing him again.

A “majority” of Americans in a heavily gerrymandered system with extreme voter disenfranchisement and removing POC folks from at voter roles voted for him. Only 65% of folks with voting rights voted in the election. That’s around 50 million who didn’t vote because of systemic pressure or disenfranchisement or both. The people who did elect him total around 72 million in a country of around 250 million who can vote. They aren’t a majority.

The system is shambles and blaming the voters is misguided. It is programmed against the people and towards the needs of the wealthy.

This is because many reasons, you see the weather wasn’t particularly good that day, and most Americans have accepte3d the Republicans gerrymandering the vote for decades without repercussions. So it is not the Americans fault that the American system sucks, it’s the Canadians I tell you, the Canadians are ruining America.

By god I’m so tired of those American apologists, saying it isn’t a majority when the election result was accepted by a VAST majority. And 100% for sure there was not a majority of voters that voted against him. And even if there were, it wouldn’t change that insanity id part of American society today. This includes lack of healthcare for all, and instead having a slavery like healthcare paid by employer system. Also lack of gun control, taking away food stamps from the poor and hundreds of such issues where American society is designed to work in a sociopathic way against the poor and the sick and minorities.
American society is sick, and that goes way way beyond gerrymandering. And ultimately the American voters are the ones responsible for the system.
So Absolutely the American voters are to blame. And that even includes Americans in the democratic party that keeps the democrats a wall street party before anything else.

You’re not giving any credit to the apathetic fucks who didn’t vote and the dingleberries who had to do a purity test even though it was clearly that Trump was going to go completely fascist with project 2025. Don’t let those people off the hook.

Nah. Americans love this shit. Most guns in the world and you just use them to shoot kids instead of bad guys.

        Trump is just distilled America.

I’ll go you one further. My vote in my state does absolutely nothing because of the electoral college, gerrymandering, and disenfranchisement. So many many votes against the RNC essentially go into a void. We need to stop blaming voters since it will only further exacerbate disenfranchisement.

I see you getting a lot of “well ackchyually” responses from Americans in denial, but this American agrees with you. They can split hairs about the election results, but the fact of the matter is 234 million eligible voters had an opportunity to vote against Trump and the majority of them didn’t do it. That is shameful. Every damn one of us should be ashamed of that.

Logically you shouldn’t be ashamed because of how other people vote, but there have been occasions where I have been ashamed of our government too.
So if I was American, I would probably be ashamed too. All the idiots reflect poorly on the rest of US, disregarding which country.
Problem with USA though, is that it is such an important country for the rest of the world too.

I respect Asimov very much, and USA has always been a weird duality society, a society of opposing sides.
And there were always problems like slavery, and when that was abandoned extreme discrimination even to this day.
A lot of the social programs structure in USA is designed to keep the “slave class” in check. With a demeaning food stamps program, and lack of healthcare for all. Having healthcare through your employer is a form of slavery too.
