I was excepting his music to become so shitty folks would drop him, but this works too. Now not only is he shitty at making any meaningful music, he is also a shitty person.
He has certainly revealed himself to be a shitty person, but Shape of You is actually a pretty good concept for a song. It’s essentially a song about body acceptance created in an era where people (especially women) face constant, coercive pressure to meet impossible, idealized beauty standards. That’s why it was such a popular song. I know a lot of people who struggle with that topic, and the song really resonated with them.
It’s not like he even wrote the song, either. Pop stars almost never write their own music, and Shape of You is no exception.
I can see how it can be taken that way. The thing is, I have no desire for that fame. Would I like the money? Nope. Not that much. I just want to have enough to get by and take care of my family and go on vacation.
