If I was born in the United States, and my country’s democratically-elected government was threatening to annex its neighbours, bombing countries unprovoked, allowing hundreds of thousands of people to die due to suddenly reneging on expected aid and generally doing everything in its power to destroy the concept of democracy around the world I’d like to think my biggest concern wouldn’t be that some of the people in the countries being attacked aren’t going out of their way to fluff my ego. The fact that that does seem to be the biggest concern of so many Americans says a lot.

The average American is 84 times richer than the average African. Even if you are dirt poor, your quality of life far exceeds the vast majority of the world.
