Part of why I bought a commercial display as a TV.
Super cheap for the size, made to be on all day long and no “smart” features at all.
I thought those TV have pretty low refresh rates.
For normal TV and youtube watching that should be fine. If they can play vidoes all day it should be fine
Probably not going to have those 120hz refresh rates with this billboards.
Well if you’re gaming you’re better of with a monitor anyway.
To each their own but I will never understand the need for 120hz on tvs for couch gaming.
oh didnt realize that was an option - where they have those?
People watch ads?
Yes, a sixth plugin against ads. Thanks for the recommendation, we must arm ourselves against the tech overlords.
This one is built on top of ublock you won’t need both. It blocks then “clicks” all the ads ruining their campaign metrics.
Ah thanks, I thought you needed it as a secondary. Btw I meant it as a good thing “the sixth plugin” but I get that it sounded sarcastic hahaha
So would you say it’s worth replacing ublock with adnauseam?
Wait, is this real?
The only time I ever see a YouTube ad is when I watch a family member pull up YouTube on their phone. It looks literally unwatchable that way. There are so many workarounds to this issue that I don’t understand how people can tolerate intrusive ads every 2 seconds.
Their sacrifice is our gain, if everyone was on Adblockers all the tech companies would make sure to block all Adblockers, even harder than what they are trying right now
There’s plenty of ways to get around this crap, but there’s vanishingly little on the platform worth watching.
At some point, why bother with the Slop Website to begin with?
Idk…I’ve found throughout the years that there are increasingly greater and greater amounts of long-form content available on YouTube to watch. Of late, I’ve watched some Louis Theroux documentaries, some documentaries on abandoned facilities, and some real A&E and ambulance emergency shows. There is a ton of interesting content on there if you look for it. I guess I just find the number of streaming services to be too staggering to bother with. So I go with free alternatives like YouTube with an ad blocker and things like PlutoTV and tubi.
If you have a Samsung TV TizenTube is awesome. There is an android version of it too but can’t recall its name colbolt something…
It can be intimidating to try and install on your Samsung TV. But once you figure it out it’s super easy.
I wouldn’t know
