Sixty minutes. That’s how long it took for a private Snapchat message to travel from Kristen Volpe’s phone to the FBI to the deputies standing in her elementary school hallway. On January 29, 2025, the 22-year-old student teacher at John L. Hensey Elementary in Washington, Illinois, vented to her boyfriend and two roommates — three people total — after a student closed her laptop mid-class and wiped her lesson plan. She referenced shooting the student or the school. She meant it as a frustrated joke. Snapchat’s algorithm didn’t get the humor.

No student reported her. No parent. No coworker. The flag was entirely automated. Snapchat’s policy permits voluntary emergency disclosures to law enforcement — no warrant required — when the platform determines imminent harm exists. The algorithm makes that initial call. Think of it like your Ring doorbell deciding to call 911 on its own, except the doorbell is reading your text messages.

Pedos sharing their stuff spoil spaces quite a bit.

I mean, it’s far nicer to look for pr0n, or even sfw material, without looking at results with pedo keywords in title sometimes. Talking about ed2k. While I’ve stopped using it lately due to simply not pirating as much, and especially not looking for that specific pr0n movie with that specific one actress that’s nowhere to be found, which ed2k is best for, - honestly that part might have been the main subconscious reason. Moderation is good. Horse porn is funny (it’s technically animal abuse, but the way horse breeding works it’s not that much different) to find, gore seems to be a thing of the past, but that I don’t like.

Nazis are usually those harmless folks posting their, eh, literature, and sometimes long hardly understandable posts about race and alternative history. Usually that’s all text. Their, eh, music is generally not forbidden and available on mainstream sites.

OK, what I was even trying to say - there’s a difference between stinky ideology and crime records being shared, the latter is far more repealing. I’m not afraid of reading yet another post about Hyperborea, Aryans, space lizards and such. I am afraid of occasionally happening upon a murder recording. EDIT1: Or a rape recording.

EDIT2: At the same time some people seem to think that some media being usable for secret communications of a group that sometimes somewhere wishes to raise an armed rebellion or something like that is closer to the latter than to the former, for me it isn’t.
