Say whatever you like, blame whatever you want, but it actually does look like it’s an attempt to ride on the original brand’s popularity. It’s obviously easy to assume that the two are related.
Yeah, this is exactly what Trademark was made for. Same market category, same size, same art style, same font on the Latin characters, and same location and box for the Kanji. At a glance, I would absolutely assume Tokyo Banana was branching out. For me personally, that would mean I’d avoid them, because Tokyo Banana is overpriced “meh,” but the berry one is obviously intended to cause confusion and poach sales.
ah yes “copying” a brand by having a box with a hand drawn style image of fruit and words on the box. so much copying going on right now…
let’s just sue Dove for copying the idea of putting liquid or cream in a bottle with words describing the ingredients on it while we are at it.
As a layman in this industry, it’s very confusing and intentional. I’d assume they’re related, which is the problem.
Too bad, because whatever the hell the Korean company was making was probably better than the upjumped twinkies that are Tokyo Bananas.
