SEC just approved new rules mandating publicly traded companies to disclose cyber attacks with "material" impact on their finances within 4 days.

      Since the SEC regulates publicly traded companies this would apply to only those traded from US stock exchanges. Still, a step in the right direction.

        Great for investors, with the side effect of being good for customers. But we need harsher regulations at the federal level. Thankfully the insurance industry has stepped up their game over the last year but that market is softening a bit so the benefits made fade some.
