I’ve taken up smoking again, because what’s there to live for? A front row seat to the planet collapsing in on itself? Pass.Yeah smoking is kind of a shitty way to die. I would recommend medication (aka legal drugs lol) If they don’t work at all after 6 months then you can think of other more optimal ways lol.
I’m in this picture and I don’t like it. There is so much in the world to do, it is not possible to do it all…
I used to be that way at that age. I used to take delight in smelling fresh coffee grounds in the morning while making my coffee, and telling myself “Enjoy it while you can, because you never know when it’ll be the last time.”
Living like that was stressful. I’m in my late 30’s now. It eventually goes away and you just learn to enjoy the life you’ve got without putting the pressure of “… this goes away at some point,” weighing down on you all the time.
It’s kinda bullshit that we have to deal with this, tbh. Consciousness, death, and the nature of existence are basically eldritch concepts beyond the scope of scientific reckoning that provably exist. I am not used to experiencing problems in my life that are truly unsolveable, nor unknowable.

huh, time for what?
people have in in their heads they have to achieve certain things by 30 or they will never happen or you have ‘failed’ at life and are a ‘loser’.
career, house, marriage, kids, etc.
despite the fact, realistically, most of those things are now only achievable by the time you are 40, due to economic reality, and more and more folks will never achieve them also due to that reality. the mentality however, persists, especially among those who are under 30 that 30 is when you ‘become adult’ and have all the ‘adult’ things.
only 1/3 of people own a home by 30 today, and I’d guess a huge chunk of those folks inherited that home rather than purchased on their own income. every young home owner i ever met had their home mostly or completely paid or by their parents. it’s common for 20 year college kids in my city to own homes, because their folks buy them for them while they attend university. and my only family is thinking of doing that for their kids.
Its compounded for me by the fact that everything I had or was interested in was 20 years old when I was young, plus I lived in the same neighborhood of courage the cowardly dog. So now, I feel like I’m about 80 and everything truly is over because tech sucks and all my favorite musicians are dead 😆
