Graphene was discovered in 1962, nuclear fusion was discovered in the 1920s… knowing a thing exists doesn’t mean you can reliably replicate it.

If someone out there is in high school and trying to decide what to study in college, take a very serious look at chemistry, chemical engineering, material science and similar fields. A whole lot of the problems we face today are really dependent on solving chemistry/material-related issues.
